aThe best air show in the Midwest that has been welcoming thousands of aviation enthusiasts to the Cape Girardeau, Mo., area since 1995.
Returning this year on May 18th and 19th, there are promises of thrills, loop-de-loops, and roars of engines filling the air.
The Blue Angels return this year. Other highlights include:
- Shockwave is a custom-built race truck equipped with three huge J34-48 Pratt & Whitney Jet Engines originally out of the USA Navy T2 Buckeye that have a combined horsepower of 36,000 and make a total of 21,000 lbs. of thrust which propels the truck to speeds over 350/mph
- US Army Golden Knights
- Plenty of single and bi-plane stunt shows
- See vintage military aircraft up-close-and personal including a North American T-28 and a T-28 Trojan, and have the opportunity to ride in the TP-40 Warhawk known as the “American Dream.
- The Show Me CAF’s mission is to preserve World War II military aviation history and share that history with others. On display at this year’s air show will be the B-25J Mitchell “Show Me”, the TBM-3E “Avenger”, and the L-3 “LIL’ Show Me.”
