Over 24 hours later, and it is still hard to fathom the amount of destruction that Monday night/Tuesday morning’s tornado did.

- Putnam County suffered the most deaths. Children are said to be among the victims.
By Tuesday morning, the resilience of a community that has seen a tornado in ’98 basically follow the same path, and a 100 year flood in 2010, rose up…surveyed the damage…and went to work.
The power of social media and the internet to do good showed immediately. Go Fund Me s and Community clean up pages were kicking in by noon. Restaurants gathered in trucks and opened doors to help feed those in need. The Nashville Predators served those in need for lunch at Bridgestone.
A community mourns, but, they know how to heal. One day at a time. Mother Nature, whose swift finger brought the destruction, now blesses the area with mostly sunny skies after some A.M. showers this morning for the next few days.
Many outlying communities , most in other states, are bringing supplies for those in need.

The United Way of Rutherford and Cannon counties is offering a giving opportunity by clicking here. Donations may also be made by texting RELIEF2020 to 41444 to give via mobile. They say 100% of funds will support relief efforts.
