Called the “Golden Gates Estates Fire” in Collier County, Florida near Naples. This Florida wildfire is only 0%-10% contained and has burned over 8,500 acres and 12 buildings.
The brush fire began in Golden Gate Estates around 2 p.m. Wednesday and at one point separated into about six different brush fires because of the spread of embers or flames.
I-75 was closed for a bit Wednesday.
Dry conditions and high winds are expected to ramp up the situation this afternoon.
