Jerry Short, the South’s story machine, is back to discuss proms and cotillions with host Jon Rawl. As teens across the region dress up for a memorable night on the town, a self-deprecating memory from Rawl is shared – in his high school days in South Carolina he once turned down a chance to go to prom because the 11th grade hopeful was from North Carolina.

Also, the I-40 bridge over the Mississippi River, connecting Memphis to Arkansas, is shut down indefinitely. How could the world’s superpower have this kind of embarrassing infrastructure mishap in the 21st century?
