  • North Carolina State Fair – 10/17-27/2019 – Raleigh – In 1853 the State Agricultural Society holds the first State Fair; it was four days long. The largest attendance day had 4,000 fairgoers. The last 5 years have seen an average attendance of over 1,000,000 total for the 10 day event.
  • Macon County Fair– 9/10-14/2019 – Franklin – Best cake and BBQ supper are highlights of this event.
  • Cleveland County Fair – 9/26- 10/6/2019 – Shelby – Since 1923 the Cleveland County Fair has welcomed young and old alike.
  • Cabarrus County Fair – 9/6-14/2019 – Concorde
  • Rowan County Fair – 9/20-28/2019 – Salisbury – Many local fire departments and civic groups help construct the fairgrounds in 1951. Among these were Locke, Liberty and Miller Ferry Fire departments, Salisbury Optimost and Millbridge Ruritans. They manned a food booth for years to help raise a major source of their income to distribute within the community. Millbridge Ruritans are presently still active with the fairgrounds serving up the traditional Chicken & Dumplings that were started by Liberty Fire Department.
  • North Carolina Mountain State Fair – 9/6-15/2019 – Fletcher – Highlights include clogging, ice cream eating, and gospel singing competitions.
  • Queen Charlotte Fair – 10/4-13/2019 – Concord – The Queen Charlotte Fair happens in the spring and fall each year and is located at the Route 29 Pavilion.
  • North Carolina Mountain State Fair -9/6-15/2019-  Asheville – The big North Carolina Mountain State Fair in Asheville is the official “state fair” of the western part of NC. More than 180,000 people attend the 10-day event that celebrates our people, agriculture, art and tradition. It’s fun for all ages, with plenty of exhibits, animals, food, rides and more.
