Nashville Hot Chicken is the trend as of late, and Yall.com has put together 5 of our favorites. Your next trip to the Music City, these 5 spots are guaranteed to help you sweat out those parties from the night before.

  1. Prince’s – It’s the home off Nashville Hot Chicken. Prince’s keeps things simple with its straightforward menu and tight quarters. The famous recipe was born when founder Thornton Prince’s wife devised a creative way to get revenge for his philandering ways—but he actually loved the absurd amount of spices she secretly added to his chicken, and the rest is history. The original Prince’s suffered a fire late last year, but there is still a location to visit on Nolensville Pike.
  2. Hattie Bs – New on the hot chicken scene,  Hattie B’s has earned acclaim on par with hot chicken legends like Prince’s. Plenty of Hattie Bs scattered throughout Nashville and surrounding boroughs make this an easy spot to fill that hot craving for tourists and locals alike.
  3. Bolton’s Spicy Chicken and Fish– Word on the street is to order one heat level lower than what you think you can handle at Bolton’s. This is a no frills dive, concentrating on awesome food over ambience.
  4. Helen’s Hot Chicken- Helen’s Hot Chicken serves up both poultry and fish as well as traditional sides, all with explosive flavor. They started in a roadside trailer in Germantown and are now franchised all over Tennessee and Texas.
  5. Big Shake’s – You need to travel about 30 minutes south of Nashville to Franklin to find Big Shake’s Hot Chicken. Owner/Chef Shawn Davis has been featured on Shark Tank and Man v. Food. His shrimp burgers are a nice alternative if you don’t like chicken.
