Readers of Condè Nast Traveler magazine ranked Savannah at the number three spot on the publication’s list of the top small cities in the U.S., following behind Santa Fe and Charleston. Savannah vaulted to the third position this year from its previous ranking at number seven in 2017.

Visit Savannah President Joseph Marinelli reflected on moving up on the list, and how the reader-voted ranking reflects the spirit of the community: “Year after year, Savannah enjoys the great honor of being selected by the readers of Condè Nast Traveler as one of their top cities to visit in the United States. At number three on that list this year, along with many other very fine destinations, we could not be more thrilled to be near the very top of that list. It truly is a reflection of the wonderful spirit of Southern hospitality that our community presents to our visitors each and every day.”

More than 429,000 readers submitted millions of ratings and tens of thousands of comments, sharing their recent travel experiences of the world’s cities, islands, hotels, resorts, cruise lines, airlines and airports—good or bad.

All of the Readers’ Choice Awards winners were announced online today at CNTraveler.com/RCA and are celebrated in the November issue of Condè Nast Traveler, on newsstands nationwide October 16.

The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards are the longest-running and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry and are commonly known as “the best of the best of travel.”
