Y’all vinegar is the most under-rated household cleaning supply you may have in your cupboards. Now, I know many of you “can’t stand the smell”, but honestly, vinegar is a eco-friendly, house healthier alternative to detergents and cleaners full of chemicals.

Here are some household chore hacks vinegar is perfect for:

  • Clean rusted tools- That’s right guys. Soak overnight in white vinegar, and a brillo pad will take that rust right off the next morning.
  • Remove old dog urine stains
  • Cheap Disinfectant- White Vinegar with some orange or lemon peels makes for a great counter-top cleaner/ disinfectant
  • Trap Fruit Flies and Gnats – 4 tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar and a couple of drops of dish soap in a shallow bowl or lid . Place traps where you have gnat or fruit fly problems.
  • Get rid of algae on your patio- Spray full strength on your algae spots on your patio. No pressure washer needed.
  • Soft Scrub for Bathrooms – 1.5 cups baking soda; 1/2 cup liquid soap; 2 tbsp. white vinegar;2 tbsp water; tea tree essential oil
  • Window Cleaner – 1/2 cup white vinegar; 1 tbsp cornstarch; 2 cups water; lemon essential oil
  • Laundry– put 1/2 cup white vinegar in your fabric softener container for softer clothes. Add couple of drops of lavender oil for a fresher scent
  • Mildewed Clothes, curtains, etc.– For mildewed towels , 1/2 cup of white vinegar ; no detergent; hot water setting. For shower curtains, bathroom rugs, etc. same as above , but gentle cycle and warm water setting.
