Coastal Plain League Throws First Pitch

Minor League Baseball has been officially cancelled and the shortened MLB season is several weeks away from its first pitch.  No worries baseball lovers, the Coastal Plain League has now launched after a delayed start.

The amateur league is generally comprised of underclass college baseball players. Competitors hit with wooden bats and keep the game active during the summer months following the completion of their collegiate season. Due to COVID-19, CPL is delivering a modified schedule where only seven of what is normally 15 teams will be in action this summer: High Point-Thomasville HiToms, Lexington County Blowfish, Macon Bacon, Martinsville Mustangs, Peninsula Pilots, Savannah Bananas, Wilson Tobs.

Fans can stream all CPL games all season long on all devices via cplbaseball.tv or through the OTT app on Apple TV, Android TV or Amazon Fire.

With teams sprinkled across four Southern states along the Atlantic seaboard, the CPL will do its best over the next few weeks to salvage some kind of baseball experience for the players and fans of each community. Check to see if a team near you is allowing fans into the ballpark to catch America’s pastime.
