Hall of Fame trainer Richard Mandella, seeking his first Kentucky Derby victory with Fox Hill Farms’ Omaha Beach, talks about the Arkansas Derby winner he worked five-eighths of a mile in 59 seconds at Churchill Downs on April 27.
Omaha Beach has never missed the board in 7 starts to accumulate over $1,000,000 in winnings. Mandella has never won a Derby and Hall of Famer Mike Smith will be in the irons. Omaha Beach should be the morning line favorite.
