According to global branding advisor, Resonance, Kansas City, Missouri is one of the top 30 Best Cities of 2019.

Hired by National Geographic,  Resonance combined core statistics with social media data (from YelpInstagram, and other sources) on nightlife, culture, restaurants, and the like to determine the city leaders for each population group in categories from meatiest (lots of steakhouses and delis) to greenest (most parkland), based on per capita results.

Add to that they were also named one of the Top 30 Cities to Visit in the World in 2019 by National Geographic, and KC is having a very good year.

According to National Geographic the following factored into their decision to name Kansas City with cities in France, New Zealand, and others:

  • An urban renaissance. Recent additions include the 21c Museum Hotel Kansas City, a $50-million reinvention of the 1888-built Savoy Hotel and Grill, and the free RideKC streetcar.
  • In the historic 18th and Vine jazz district, visit the side-by-side American Jazz Museum and Negro Leagues Baseball Museum
  • The West Bottoms now houses retro-cool retailers and clubs, like The Ship, a restored 1930s speakeasy.
